Cleaning

Dental cleaning, also called dental prophylaxis, is carried out to remove plaque and tartar that accumulates on the teeth over time. This accumulation of plaque and tartar builds up on the teeth. Plaque is a viscous substance with bacteria and food debris that is deposited on the margins of the gums and in the most retentive areas of the teeth. Once plaque is formed, it cannot be removed by brushing. Tartar is the solidification of dental plaque. It is ideal to have your teeth cleaned once a year.

Dentures

The loss of teeth directly affects the digestive process, because it prevents food from being chewed properly. Among the reasons for which a person may be missing teeth include: Absence of permanent teeth, dental diseases (the most frequent are caries and periodontal diseases) blows and traumatisms, mechanical problems such as bruxism (clenching or grinding of teeth) which can lead to breakage or the need to extract teeth. The first thing to do if any of these situations occur is to visit a specialist, as he/she is the best person that can guide us on the most appropriate treatment for us. A dental prosthesis allows the patient to re-establish both the dental function and the aesthetics of one or several very damaged teeth. There are different types of dental prostheses depending on the needs of the user. For example, it will be different if only one tooth is damaged or if a complete denture is needed.

Extractions

Extractions are the most common type of extraction that we carry out in our clinic. They are performed as a last option when conservative treatment does not work. They are used when the tooth is in a bad state due to caries, fracture, decay or severe periodontitis. At the end of  the same, we will give you the appropriate recommendations.

Fillings

There are two types of fillings available: -New fillings: They solve untreated caries problems. -Replacement of old fillings: As its name indicates, this technique is based on changing old fillings that are in poor condition, or for aesthetic reasons, as in the past the materials used for the filling left an unnatural colour on the tooth. This has now changed, nowadays the fillings are made of composite, which are the same colour as the tooth and go unnoticed, they are much more aesthetic.

Implantology

The solution of dental implants is used for people who have lost one or more teeth but do not want to damage their natural teeth or for those who are completely edentulous. Fixed prostheses on implants can replace one or several crowns of the missing natural teeth. They are usually made of a restorative material, which is usually porcelain fused to a noble metal alloy. We have different types of fix prosthesis: Screw-retained directly to the implant -Cemented to the implant Overdentures usually require 4 or 6 implants to be fitted, depending on the case.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the speciality that corrects dental and skeletal malposition, by means of fixed appliances (brackets which can be metallic or aesthetic porcelain brackets) or removable appliances, specially designed to move teeth, modify growth and correct habits, articular problems, etc... There are no age limits for both children and adults. Types of orthodontics that we have at Body Balance: WITH BRACKETS (DAMON SYSTEM, H4...) photo 1 WITHOUT BRACKETS (INVISIBLE) photo 2

Periodontics

Periodontics is a branch of the medical-surgical dentistry speciality that studies the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions that affect the tissues that support the dental organs (gingiva, periodontal ligament, root cementum and alveolar bone) and the implanted substitutes, for the maintenance of health, function and beauty of the teeth and their adjacent tissues. Periodontal diseases are diseases of the gums. Failure to remove tartar from the mouth leads to the development of bacteria plaques that can accumulate under the gum. The gums become inflamed due to the infection and a disease called gingivitis occurs. If gingivitis is not treated properly or in time, it may worsen into periodontitis, the most serious form of periodontal disease. For this type of disease, we have specific treatments at our Clinic. The main reason why periodontal diseases occur is due to poor hygiene. To avoid these diseases it is necessary to carry out a constant and adequate dental cleaning with a toothbrush, dental floss and mouthwash. In addition, regular visits to the dentist and the hygienist help to prevent the appearance of the onset of oral diseases.
